Heart of Missouri United Way

Donating to United Way is the single most effective way to make real change in your community. When you give to the United Way you can be assured the donations are helping those with the greatest need. This is because hundreds of volunteers, with the guidance and input of the local Board of Directors, are involved in strategically allocating funds and monitoring participating service providers to ensure they are reaching those individuals most in need. United Way conducts ongoing evaluations with agencies that receive United Way funds.

Your donations through United Way help our community leverage additional funds that might not otherwise reach mid-Missouri. For example, many government sources provide matching dollars for United Way donations. In 2003, United Way assisted member agencies in securing nearly $1 million in additional grants. This would not have been possible if the gifts had been donated directly to a service provider rather than through the United Way.

The services provided by United Way’s member agencies would not be possible without the support of local people. By donating to United Way, you will have an impact right here in the community where you live. Through United Way, you support the greatest variety of health and human services - aside from government - reaching people from all walks of life and all income groups.
